Work in Your Webex Spaces, Messages, and Meetings Through Your Muse
Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can work in Cisco Webex: read and post in your spaces, send direct messages, schedule meetings, and read transcripts and summaries of ended meetings.
What it does
The connector adds 28 tools and signs in as you, so it sees only the spaces you are in and the meetings you host or are invited to. It can find people in your organization, list your spaces and teams, and read messages newest first. It can schedule a meeting, change one, list who was invited and who joined, and read the transcript with speaker names, the AI summary with its action items, and the recordings of an ended meeting. Messages, new spaces, added members, and meeting invitations ask for your yes first.
How to use it
- Start an AnythingMCP account and add the Webex connector.
- On the Webex developer site, open My Webex Apps and create an integration. Add the callback address the connector gives you and select its scopes.
- Copy the client ID and secret into the connector, then authorize with your Webex account.
- In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
- Start with a read: ask which spaces had new messages today.
- Ask for the transcript of a meeting that has ended and check it.
What you need
- A Muse account that can add custom connectors
- An AnythingMCP account with the Webex connector added
- A Webex account with a developer integration you create yourself
- A Webex Meetings host license for the meeting tools, which the free plan includes
What to watch for
- The two delete tools, for messages and meetings, come switched off at install. Leave them off unless you want the muse able to delete. A canceled meeting emails everyone invited and cannot be recovered.
- Transcripts exist only when transcription or captions with the Webex AI Assistant were on, and details appear about 15 minutes after a meeting ends.
- Recording download links work for anyone who has them for a few hours. The muse gives them only to you.
- Sign-in lasts about 90 days while the connector is used. If it sits idle longer, authorize again.
- It does not edit messages, upload files, or remove members, and it does not cover Webex Calling.
- This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time. The muse prepares, you decide.
