Work in the Same Document at the Same Time

確認済み 2026-10-12

Working on a shared document usually means taking turns: one person writes, sends it over, and waits for the edits to come back. With your files connected, a muse can edit inside the same document while you are in it, adding a section, fixing formatting, or tidying a table when you ask.

What it does

Open a document or spreadsheet you share with the muse and it can work in that file with you. Ask for an edit in plain words and it makes the change in the document itself: writing a new paragraph where you point, reformatting a section so headings match, cleaning up a messy table, or filling in a sheet from numbers you give it. The change lands in the file you are both looking at, so there are no copies emailed back and forth and no second version to merge later. You stay in the document and read each change as it lands.

How to use it

  1. Connect the drive or folder where the document lives, and open the file you want to work on.
  2. Tell the muse which file it is, by name or by link, so there is no mix-up with a similar one.
  3. Ask for one clear edit at a time: "Add a short paragraph about delivery times under the second heading," or "Make every heading in this file the same style."
  4. Read the change before you ask for the next one. Small steps are easier to check than one long list of edits.
  5. If an edit comes out wrong, say so in plain words, or roll the file back using version history.

What you need

  • Your document storage connected, with the file where the muse can open it
  • Edit access on the file, since the muse works with the access you give it
  • A format the storage app can edit in the browser, such as a doc or a sheet

What to watch for

Vague asks get vague edits. "Make this better" can mean almost anything, so point at the section and say what should change. For an important document, work on a copy first until you trust the flow, and lean on version history as your safety net. The muse can only edit files it can open: a locked file, a scan with no readable text, or a format the app cannot edit may stop it, and it should say so rather than guess at the contents. The muse does the typing and the tidying inside the file; what the document says stays your call.
