Work in Outlook Mail and Calendar With Your Own Microsoft App

Through an AnythingMCP custom connector that runs on a Microsoft app you register yourself, your muse can work in Outlook mail and calendar together: search and file email, draft and send replies, check meetings, and find a free time for colleagues.

What it does

Outlook covers Microsoft 365 and Outlook.com mailboxes, with the calendar beside them. Connected this way, the muse gets 19 tools in one place. For mail, it can list folders, search the whole mailbox, read one message in full, create and send drafts, reply to one person or to everyone on a thread, and move a message to another folder. For the calendar, it can list events in a time range, read one event with its attendees and their replies, create an event, and change only the fields you name. It can also check free and busy times for people and rooms in your organization.

How to use it

1. Start an AnythingMCP account and add the Outlook (Microsoft 365 Mail and Calendar) connector.
2. In the Microsoft Entra admin center, register an app, add the Mail.ReadWrite, Mail.Send, and Calendars.ReadWrite delegated permissions, and copy its client ID, secret, and tenant value into the connector fields only, never into a chat.
3. On the connector page, choose Authorize with Provider and sign in with the mailbox the muse should work in.
4. In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
5. Start with a read: ask what is on the calendar tomorrow. When that is right, ask for a draft reply first.

What you need

• A Muse account that can add custom connectors
• An AnythingMCP account with the Outlook (Microsoft 365 Mail and Calendar) connector added
• A Microsoft 365 or Outlook.com mailbox
• A Microsoft Entra app registration you control, with the permissions listed above

What to watch for

• This route differs from a built-in Outlook connection: you own the Microsoft app, so its secret expiry is yours to watch.
• The connector does not delete mail or events, and does not handle attachments, contacts, mailbox rules, or shared mailboxes.
• Free and busy checks do not work with personal Outlook.com accounts.
• Use delegated permissions only. Application permissions would give access to every mailbox in an organization, and this connector does not need them. If sign-in asks for admin approval, an administrator must grant consent once first.
• This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time.
