Work in OneDrive Through Your Muse
Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can work in Microsoft OneDrive in plain words: browse and search files and folders, see who has access, create folders, and copy, rename, and move items.
What it does
OneDrive is Microsoft's file storage service, in personal and work or school versions. Connected this way, the muse gets 19 tools. It can show which drive it is signed in to and how much storage is left, list any folder by name or path, and show one item's size, dates, and last editor. It can search your own drive and files other people shared with you. It can create a folder or a small text file, replace the text in a text file, and copy, rename, or move an item. It can also list who has access to a file or folder. The muse prepares each change and you decide before anything moves.
How to use it
- Start an AnythingMCP account and add the OneDrive (Microsoft 365) connector.
- In the Microsoft Entra admin center, register an app, add the Files.ReadWrite permission, and copy its client ID, secret, and tenant value into the connector fields only, never into a chat.
- On the connector page, choose Authorize with Provider and sign in with the account whose OneDrive the muse should use.
- In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
- Start with a read: ask what is in one folder. When that reads right, ask for a new folder or a text file, and check it in OneDrive.
What you need
- A Muse account that can add custom connectors
- An AnythingMCP account with the OneDrive (Microsoft 365) connector added
- A Microsoft account with a OneDrive
- A Microsoft Entra app registration with the Files.ReadWrite permission
What to watch for
- The connector lists and describes files but does not download their content. It gives you the file link instead.
- Text files are the write limit, up to about 4 MB. It cannot upload photos, videos, or other binary files.
- The delete tool and both sharing tools are switched off at install on purpose. Turn one on only when truly needed, one at a time.
- Files shared with you need the wider Files.ReadWrite.All permission before the muse can change them. Deleted items go to the recycle bin, where you can restore them in OneDrive.
- This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time.
