Work in Gmail With Your Own Google Client Through Your Muse

Through an AnythingMCP custom connector using your own Google client, your muse can search and read your Gmail, sort it with labels, save drafts for you to check, and send mail only when you ask.

What it does

Connected this way, the muse gets 16 tools for one Gmail account, personal or Google Workspace. It can search with Gmail search words, such as from a sender, is unread, newer than 7 days, or has an attachment, and read one message or a whole conversation as plain text. Attachments are listed, and one can be downloaded by request. Sorting is done with labels: it can mark mail as read or unread, archive it, star it, or file it under a label, for one message or a conversation. It can save a draft for you to check in Gmail, send that draft exactly as written, send a new message, or reply inside a conversation. It cannot delete mail, send attachments, or change filters and settings.

How to use it

1. In Google Cloud, create a project, turn on the Gmail API, and make a web OAuth client. Set the consent screen to In production, not Testing, or Google cuts access after 7 days.
2. Start an AnythingMCP account, add the Gmail connector, and enter the client ID and secret only where the connector asks, never in a chat. Authorize with the Gmail account the muse should work in.
3. In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
4. Check first: ask which account it is working as, and compare that with Gmail.
5. Start with reads and drafts, such as listing unread mail from the last 3 days that needs a reply.

What you need

• A Muse account that can add custom connectors
• An AnythingMCP account with the Gmail connector installed
• A Gmail or Google Workspace account, and a Google Cloud project

What to watch for

• Sending is final. A sent message cannot be recalled, and one message can reach at most 500 people. If you only want drafts, switch off the sending tools and send drafts yourself.
• A read-only setup is a safer first step: it stops label changes, drafts, and sending.
• A warning that Google has not verified the app is expected for a personal app that only you use. Continue only for your own client.
• This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time.
