Work in Basecamp Projects Through Your Muse

Verificado 2026-11-06

Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can work in Basecamp 4: list your projects and to-do lists, read and post message board posts, add to-dos, mark them done, and reopen them when plans change.

What it does

The connector adds 12 tools for projects, to-do lists, messages, comments, and people. For reading, it shows your own profile, lists the active projects you can reach, opens one project with its tools, lists the to-do lists and to-dos inside a project, lists message board posts, and lists everyone in the account. For writing, it creates a to-do in a list, marks a to-do complete, reopens a completed to-do, posts a new message to a project message board, and adds a comment to a to-do, message, or document.

How to use it

  1. Start an AnythingMCP account and add the Basecamp connector.
  2. Register an integration for Basecamp and finish the sign-in flow it gives you, so the connector gets an access token for your account.
  3. Copy your Basecamp account number into the connector as well. It is the number in the address of any Basecamp page.
  4. In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
  5. Start with a read. Ask for your active projects and one project's open to-dos, and check both against Basecamp itself.
  6. Then have the muse add one to-do and post one short update, and confirm both appear where you expected.

What you need

  • A Muse account that can add custom connectors
  • An AnythingMCP account with the Basecamp connector added
  • A Basecamp 4 account, with an access token from the sign-in flow and your account number

What to watch for

  • A message board post is visible to everyone on that project. Draft team-wide posts and read them over before you approve them. A comment on a single to-do reaches a smaller group.
  • The connector acts with the permissions of the account that signed in. If that account can see every project, so can the muse. Use an account that sees only what you want it to work on.
  • Marking a to-do complete and reopening it are both one ask away, so name the project and the list in your request. Similar to-do names in different projects are easy to mix up.
  • This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time. The muse prepares, you decide.
