Wake Up to a Triaged Inbox

Verified 2026-10-06

Set up a standing task once and your muse checks your inboxes every morning, hands you the short list of emails that actually need a reply, and nudges you in the evening about the ones you never got to.

What it does

Most inboxes are a mix of junk, FYIs, and three emails that actually matter. A muse can do the sorting before you wake up. Connect your email accounts with read-only access, and tell it: every morning, surface the emails I need to respond to, and in the evening, remind me about the ones I ignored. It reads through everything, picks out the messages that need you, and leaves the rest alone.

It works across multiple accounts at once, which matters if you have split your life across inboxes. And the same search that powers the triage can find things on demand: tell it what you are looking for ("the flight confirmation from last spring") and it checks every connected account instead of you hunting through each one.

How to use it

  1. Connect your email accounts using the narrowest permission you are offered. Read-only is enough for all of this.
  2. Give it one standing instruction: "Every morning, show me the emails I need to respond to. Every evening, nudge me about the ones I have not answered."
  3. Check the morning list for the first week and correct it when it gets one wrong. It learns what counts as important to you.
  4. Use it on demand too: "Find the receipt for the plumber" beats searching three inboxes yourself.

What you need

  • The email accounts you want covered, connected read-only
  • A week of light corrections while it learns your priorities

What to watch for

It is normal if a program reading your email feels strange at first. That access is yours to control: you can review what the muse knows, narrow what it can see, and disconnect an account any time. The muse prepares the list, you decide what to answer. And keep the permission narrow. Triage needs read-only; it never needs the ability to send mail in your name.
