Understand the Private Computer Your Muse Works On
Your muse works on its own private computer in the cloud, walled off from every other muse, with a guard program that approves anything before it leaves.
What it does
When you set up a muse, you get a dedicated computer, called a Secure VM, with its own browser. That is where the muse opens websites, fills in forms, and holds its work, even after you close the app. No other person's muse can reach into your computer. A separate guard program checks outgoing actions, and nothing reaches the internet unless it approves. That is why you approve before an email sends or a purchase goes through. Stored passwords and payment details are held apart, so it can use a saved login or a one-time card number without seeing the real number. A stronger version, called a Confidential VM, is planned to add encryption that keeps contents out of the company's reach too. It is announced but had not shipped as of late October 2026.
How to use it
- Connect one service at a time, starting with the one your first task needs.
- Watch the work. Open the task while it runs and read the activity log, so you see which sites it visited and what it did.
- Keep approvals set to ask first for sending, posting, and paying. Approve only after reading what is about to go out.
- If a task needs a login, sign in yourself on the service's own page in the muse browser. Do not paste a password into the chat.
- Review the setup every few weeks: which services are connected, what the muse remembers, and whether each still earns its place.
What you need
- A muse account
- The Muse app, the web version, or WhatsApp access
- A few minutes to read approval prompts on your first tasks
What to watch for
- A private computer is not the same as a private company. The Secure VM walls your muse off from other users, but the company running it can still reach that data to run and support the service. Until the Confidential VM ships, connect with that in mind.
- The guard approves actions, not judgment. A purchase can be approved and still be wrong, so read the item, price, and terms before you tap.
- Turning off training, deleting a conversation, and disconnecting a service are separate controls. Check each one in settings.
- It is normal if this sounds strange at first. Start with one low-stakes task and widen access only as results earn it.
