Share One Memory Across Your AI Tools Through Hindsight

Verified 2026-11-07

Through a Hindsight custom connector, your muse can use memory banks kept outside the chat, so facts you gave other AI tools are available in Muse, and what Muse learns can be read by them.

What it does

Hindsight is a memory service that stores what you tell AI tools in separate banks, such as one for work and one for Muse itself. Once connected, Muse keeps its own bank for what you do together and reads your other banks when a question reaches into them. It can recall facts before a task about people, projects, plans, or preferences, save a new fact or decision when you state one, and answer questions about your history and habits from what is stored. At the start of a conversation it can read a profile of you built from the banks. The setup also creates a nightly task saving a summary of the day.

How to use it

  1. Create a Hindsight account. The cloud version is the simple path, since it already supports the sign-in Muse uses.
  2. Open Muse and paste the connect prompt Hindsight provides for Muse.
  3. When Muse shows a Connect button, select it and approve access on the Hindsight sign-in page.
  4. Let Muse list the banks it can see and create its bank. If a step fails for lack of credit, add credit, ask Muse to retry that step instead of pasting the prompt again.
  5. Test it: ask which banks it can see, what you worked on last week, and to remember one preference.

What you need

  • A Muse account that can add custom connectors
  • A Hindsight account, cloud or self-hosted
  • Any other AI tool you want sharing the same banks, connected to the same Hindsight account

What to watch for

  • A memory that follows you between tools can feel strange at first. It is normal if that gives you pause. You stay in charge: the connect prompt blocks deleting banks and clearing memories, and you can hand Muse one bank instead of the whole account.
  • Saving and recall cost credit on the cloud plan, while listing banks and creating a bank are free. A half-finished setup usually means a paid step failed, not that the connection is broken.
  • Keep private details out of the banks unless a tool truly needs them. A short fact is enough for recall to find it later.
  • This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time. The muse prepares, you decide.
