Set a Recurring Check and Let It Run
A muse can run the same check on a schedule as a standing goal, for example looking at a website every day, and it keeps running in the background after you close the app.
What it does
Some jobs are not one task. They are the same small check, done again and again: has this page changed, is this item back, did this price move, is there news on this topic. Instead of remembering to look yourself, you set the check up once in plain words and the muse turns it into a recurring goal. A daily website check, a price watch, or a stock check can all be set up by chat in plain words, run as a background goal, and be paused or deleted by chat just as fast. It is normal if a task that keeps working while you are not looking sounds strange. You can see every standing check in one place, pause it, edit it, or delete it at any time.
How to use it
- Pick one check you repeat by hand, and write down what counts as a change worth hearing about.
- Tell your muse: check this every day, or every week, and tell me only when that change happens.
- Confirm the schedule and the exact thing it is watching before you let it start.
- Check the first report or two against the real page yourself, so you know the watch is set right.
- Delete or edit the check in chat the moment it stops being useful.
What you need
- A muse account
- One page, listing, or topic worth watching, and a clear rule for what counts as news
- Approval settings left on, so a check can report to you but never act on its own
What to watch for
A vague watch gives vague reports. Say what changed means: a new date, a lower price, a new post, a status change. Keep the list short, because each running check uses some of your plan allowance and a screen full of stale watches helps no one. Review your standing checks now and then and delete the dead ones. The muse watches and reports, you decide what any change is worth doing.
