Send Telegram Messages, Photos, and Polls Through Your Muse

Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can send messages, photos, albums, files, and polls through a Telegram bot you create, and read back the recent messages that bot has received.

What it does

Telegram bots are accounts that software can send from. Connected this way, the muse gets 21 tools tied to your bot. It can send text messages, photos, albums of two to ten items, documents, audio files, voice notes, videos, animations, and stickers. It can send a contact card, a place that opens in a maps app, a location, and a poll or quiz. It can edit or delete messages the bot itself sent, read details about a chat, such as its title, type, and member count, and pull the recent messages the bot received.

How to use it

1. Start an AnythingMCP account and add the Telegram Bot connector.
2. In Telegram, open a chat with BotFather, send the new bot command, and pick a display name and a username ending in bot. BotFather replies with a token. Enter it only where the connector asks, never in a chat.
3. In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
4. Have each person or group start the bot first: a person sends it the start command once, and a group or channel needs the bot added before it can post there.
5. Ask for a first test send to a chat you control, check it in Telegram, and only then use the bot for real groups and channels.

What you need

• A Muse account that can add custom connectors
• An AnythingMCP account with the Telegram Bot connector added
• A Telegram account and a bot created through BotFather, plus its token

What to watch for

• The bot token is a secret. Anyone who has it can send as your bot, so replace it through BotFather if it leaks.
• Media goes by public link or by a file reference from an earlier message. Photos are capped at 5 MB by link and other files at 20 MB, and uploading a file from your computer in the same request is not supported.
• Sending is paced: roughly one message a second to the same chat and twenty a minute to the same group. Big batch sends need to be spread out.
• This connector does not run a chatbot that answers people on its own. That needs a separate hosted setup. Payments and games are also not covered.
