Send and Search Microsoft Teams Messages Through Your Muse

Verified 2026-11-04

Through a Composio custom connector, your muse can send and search Microsoft Teams messages, set up online meetings, fetch meeting transcripts and recordings, and handle Planner tasks.

What it does

Microsoft Teams is a workplace app for chat, meetings, and planning. Connected through Composio, the muse gets tools for that workspace. It can send a message to a channel or a chat, reply inside a thread, and pin one so the team sees it. It can read channel history and replies, list your chats, and search messages and files. For meetings, it can create an online meeting, list past recordings and transcripts, and pull a transcript with or without speaker names. It can create channels and teams, and add members one at a time or in a group. It can create Planner tasks and buckets, list your tasks and plans, and handle team shifts and time off.

How to use it

  1. Make a Composio account, open its Muse page, and copy your API key. The key starts with ck.
  2. In a new chat, ask the muse to create a custom connector for the Composio server and open the secure credentials store. Paste the key there, never in chat.
  3. Back in the chat, ask the muse to connect Microsoft Teams. Follow the sign-in link, sign in, and approve the access. Check the connection shows active.
  4. Start with a read-only job, such as a message search, and check the results in Teams.
  5. Then have it send one message to a channel you control, and check in Teams that it landed.

What you need

  • A Muse account that can add custom connectors
  • A free Composio account and its API key
  • A Microsoft Teams account with access to the teams and channels you want it to use

What to watch for

  • Messages go out under your name. Read the exact text before you approve a send.
  • The muse can only do what your Teams account can do. Creating teams, adding members, or changing a schedule may need admin rights first.
  • Meeting recordings come with limits: only scheduled meetings that have not expired, and files up to a set size. Ask for the transcript when you just need what was said.
  • If you connect more than one Teams account, name each one, such as work or personal, and say which to use.
  • Never paste the API key into a chat. If you do, treat it as exposed: make a new key, delete the old one, and add the new one through the secure store.
