Send a Daily Family Note on a Schedule You Set Once

Verified 2026-10-18

You can set your muse up once to compose and send a short, uplifting email to your family every morning at a fixed time, written to a specification you approve in advance. The note goes out under your name, on time, without you having to remember it, draft it, or send it yourself each day.

What it does

You write the rules once: who receives it, what time it arrives, how long it should be, what tone it should carry, and what it should never include. From then on, the muse composes a fresh note each morning inside those rules and sends it at the set time. Because the message carries your name, the specification matters more than the writing. A tight spec, with a clear topic range and a clear length, is what makes a sent message safe to leave running. The muse prepares and sends; you stay the author of the rules it follows.

How to use it

  1. Decide who the note is for and write down the list of recipients yourself. Start small, with people who will tell you honestly how it reads.
  2. Write the specification in plain words: the time, the length, the tone, the kinds of topics to use, and the topics to avoid.
  3. Have the muse draft three sample notes from the spec before anything is scheduled, and edit the spec until all three sound like something you would send.
  4. Turn on the daily schedule and confirm the first real send lands at the right time, in the right inboxes, with the right wording.
  5. Read the sent note for the first week. If anything drifts, tighten the spec rather than rewriting notes one by one.
  6. Revisit the recipient list and the spec every few months, and turn the schedule off the moment it stops feeling right.

What you need

  • A Muse account with your email connected
  • A written specification for tone, length, topics, and timing
  • The recipient list, set by you

What to watch for

  • The note goes out under your name, so treat the spec like a signature. Anything you would not say yourself does not belong in the rules.
  • A daily message can go stale. Rotate topics in the spec and check in with your family now and then about whether they still enjoy it.
  • If a family situation changes, pause the schedule first and adjust it second. A kind note sent at the wrong moment is worse than no note that day.
