Sell Your Car Without the Tire Kickers

Verified 2026-10-15

A muse can run the slow parts of selling a car privately: it prices the car from similar listings near you, writes the listing, fields buyer messages, and holds to a floor price you set, while you approve every real decision.

What it does

A private sale usually pays better than a trade in, but the work puts people off. There is pricing research, listing copy, photos, and then a stream of messages from people who were never going to buy. A muse takes that labor. It looks at comparable cars listed in your area, suggests a fair asking price, and drafts the listing for the places you approve. Once the listing is live, it answers routine buyer questions, screens out offers below your floor, and negotiates only inside the range you set. When a serious buyer appears, it helps arrange the test drive and prepares the bill of sale and title transfer checklist for your state.

How to use it

  1. Give the muse the basics: year, make, model, trim, mileage, condition notes, and clear photos.
  2. Set your floor price in plain words, and say that no offer at or below it gets accepted without you.
  3. Approve where the car gets listed and read the listing copy before it goes live.
  4. Let the muse field messages and bring you only the serious offers.
  5. Meet the buyer yourself, confirm payment in full, and sign the paperwork the muse prepared.

What you need

  • A muse account and the car details and photos
  • A floor price you have thought through before messages start
  • The listing sites or apps you want used, signed in

What to watch for

Never let the muse share your home address or personal contact details with buyers without your explicit approval for that buyer. Meet in a public place for test drives and bring someone with you when you can. Payment is the step to slow down on: confirm the money has cleared in your own account before you hand over keys or title, and do not accept overpayment by check. Rules for title transfer and sales tax vary by state, so check the checklist against your state office before you sign. The muse prepares and negotiates inside your limits, you decide.
