Search Live eBay Listings Through Your Muse
Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can search live eBay listings and read any listing in full: price, condition, seller, shipping, and item specifics, found by keyword, category, barcode number, or product id. It reads public listings only, with no eBay account needed.
What it does
The connector adds 4 tools, all read-only. Search active listings on one eBay marketplace and narrow the results with filters such as a price range, new or used condition, Buy It Now only, or items in one country, sorted by price, newly listed, or ending soonest. Open one listing for its full description, condition notes, item specifics, brand, photos, shipping and return terms, quantity left, and estimated delivery. Paste the number from a listing address and the muse opens that exact item. For a listing with sizes or colors, it reads the whole group, with the price and availability of each version.
How to use it
- Start an AnythingMCP account and add the eBay Browse connector.
- Sign in at the eBay developer site, open Application Keys, and create a production keyset. A free developer account is enough, and no seller account is needed.
- Copy the App ID and Cert ID from that keyset into the connector, and set the marketplace you want to search, such as the US, UK, or German site.
- In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
- Test it with one simple search, and compare the first result with the same search on eBay itself.
What you need
- A Muse account that can add custom connectors
- An AnythingMCP account with the eBay Browse connector added
- A free eBay developer account with a production keyset
What to watch for
- Prices and availability change constantly. A price the muse quotes is the price at the moment it looked, so ask again before you buy.
- The connector cannot buy, bid, or make an offer, and it does not sign in to your eBay account. Buying still happens on eBay itself.
- It searches active listings only. Sold and ended listings do not appear, so it cannot tell you what an item sold for last month.
- A search needs at least a keyword, a category, a barcode number, or a product id. Very broad searches stop at 10,000 results, so filters give better answers.
- This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time. The muse prepares, you decide.
