Screen Your Group's Join Requests Before the Spam Gets In

Verified 2026-10-06

Running a Facebook group means a queue of join requests, and a share of them are spam accounts, resellers, or bots. A muse can go through the request queue for you, flag the ones that look fake, and explain why, so you approve or deny in minutes instead of clicking through profiles one by one.

What it does

The muse opens your group's pending request list, looks at each account, and sorts them into likely-real and likely-spam. For every account it flags, it gives a short reason: a brand-new profile with no posts, a profile photo that appears on many other accounts, an account that joined dozens of groups in a day. You review the list, check any borderline cases yourself, and then tell it to deny the clear spam. It works as a first pass, not the final word.

How to use it

  1. Give the muse access to your group as an admin or moderator so it can see the pending requests.
  2. Ask it to list every pending request with a verdict for each: looks real, looks like spam, or needs a human look, plus one sentence on why.
  3. Review the list yourself, especially the ones it flagged. Check a few of its calls to learn how careful it is being.
  4. Tell it to deny only the clear spam. Handle the borderline cases by hand.

What you need

  • A Facebook group where you are an admin or moderator
  • Login access for the muse to see the request queue (log in through its browser and revoke access when done if you prefer)

What to watch for

A muse errs on the careful side and will miss the clever spam. Fake accounts with real-looking photos and a few months of history will pass right through. And any automated screener can misjudge a real person, which is why you review before anything gets denied. Start with the review-every-time workflow, and only let it deny the obvious cases on its own once you trust its judgment.
