Run Your Google Merchant Center Through Your Muse
Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can run Google Merchant Center in plain words: check products and feeds, find issues holding items back, read performance and price reports, and update product details, stock, and promotions.
What it does
Google Merchant Center is the Google service shops use to get products into free listings and shopping ads. Connected this way, the muse gets 40 tools. It can read your account, business details, homepage status, and account issues. It can read processed products with their status for each place and country, including the item-level issues that stop a product from showing, plus data sources. It can report performance, with clicks, impressions, and sales, plus price and best sellers. It can write: add or update product details in an API data source, update local and regional stock, create promotions, and set up status notices. The delete tools for products, stock, and notices are switched off at install.
How to use it
- Start an AnythingMCP account and add the Google Merchant Center connector.
- In Google Cloud, make or pick a project, turn on the Merchant API, and create a web OAuth client. Put the consent screen In production so sign-in does not expire weekly.
- Enter the client details and account number in the connector, sign in with a Google account on that account, and register the project once.
- In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
- Start with a read: ask which products have issues, and check the answer in Merchant Center before you ask for any change.
What you need
- A Muse account that can add custom connectors
- An AnythingMCP account with the connector added
- A Merchant Center account and a Google Cloud project with the Merchant API on
- Admin access to that account for the one-time setup
What to watch for
- Changes can take a few minutes to show, and approval can take a few days. A saved change is not a live listing.
- Products added by file feed or by hand cannot be edited through this connector. Their details can be corrected with a separate API data source instead.
- This connector does not handle orders or returns, shipping or return policies, product reviews, or Google Ads campaigns.
- For a read-only setup, sign in with a read-only user and switch off the writing tools. You stay in charge of every change.
- Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time.
