Review Campaign Results and Manage Contacts Through ActiveCampaign
Once ActiveCampaign is connected, a muse can read your email campaign results, find engaged contacts, list open deals, and draft new campaigns and automations, all from a plain chat.
What it does
ActiveCampaign is an email marketing tool many small businesses use for newsletters, welcome emails, and sales follow-up. Connecting it brings that account into the chat. The muse can compare campaigns from this month by opens and clicks, check how an automation is performing, and find contacts by their email activity. With wider access it can create and update contacts, lists, and tags, add or remove a contact from an automation, and view, create, and update deals by pipeline stage. It can draft a campaign or build an automation from a description and leave the draft for you to review. You choose the access level at setup: read-only for reporting, or read and write for creating records.
How to use it
- Decide on the access level first. Start with read-only if you are unsure. You can widen it later by reconnecting and approving the broader access.
- In a chat, ask the muse to create a custom connector for the ActiveCampaign MCP server, and give it the server address it asks for.
- Follow the connection link the muse provides. Sign in to ActiveCampaign yourself, review the permissions on screen, and approve the connection.
- Ask the muse what it can help with in ActiveCampaign, then start with a read-only job such as comparing this month's campaigns by opens and clicks.
- Move to writing jobs one at a time, such as drafting a welcome email, and keep drafts as drafts until you have read them.
What you need
- A Muse account
- An ActiveCampaign account, on any customer plan
- A few minutes to sign in and approve the connection yourself
What to watch for
- A change made through the muse cannot be undone from the chat. A tag added to the wrong list or a contact updated by mistake stays changed until you fix it in ActiveCampaign, so check names and lists before you approve a write.
- If you use a corporate Muse account, an administrator may need to approve the connection before it works.
- Drafts are the safe default for anything your customers will see. Ask for the draft, read it in full, and send it yourself or approve the exact text.
- Read-only access cannot create or change anything. If a job fails for that reason, reconnect with read and write access rather than working around it.
