Read Your Instagram Professional Account Through Your Muse

Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can read one Instagram professional account, its posts, reels, stories, insights, and comments, and can search hashtags and look up other public business accounts.

What it does

The connector uses the official Instagram API through Facebook Login and gives the muse 20 tools. It can read the profile with follower and media counts, list posts and reels newest first, list stories that are live now, and list posts where the account was tagged. It can read account and per-post insights, including reach, views, saves, shares, and profile visits. It can list comments and replies, reply to a comment, and hide or unhide a comment. It can search a hashtag for its top posts or recent posts from the last 24 hours, and look up another business or creator account by username. The two publishing tools are installed switched off.

How to use it

1. Make sure the Instagram account is a business or creator account linked to a Facebook Page. Personal accounts have no API access.
2. In Meta Business settings, create a system user, assign the Page and the account to it, and generate a token with basic, insights, and comments permissions. Note the account ID, which starts with 1784.
3. Start an AnythingMCP account, add the Instagram connector, and enter the token and account ID only where the connector asks, never in a chat.
4. In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
5. Start with a check: ask the muse to read the profile and compare the follower count with the app.
6. Ask a real question, such as which posts earned the most saves this month.

What you need

• A Muse account that can add custom connectors
• An AnythingMCP account with the Instagram connector added
• An Instagram business or creator account linked to a Facebook Page
• A Meta system user token with the permissions the connector lists

What to watch for

• Publishing is off at install. If you switch it on, the API limit is 50 posts in 24 hours.
• Hashtag search is limited to 30 hashtags in a rolling 7 days, so save searches for the tags that matter.
• Accounts below 100 followers return no demographic insights.
• Stories disappear from this read after 24 hours, so check them the same day.
• This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time.
