Read Your Airtable Bases and Records Through Your Muse

ยืนยันแล้ว 2026-11-05

Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can read your Airtable bases, tables, and records and answer questions about them in plain words, and this connection is read only, so it cannot change anything in Airtable.

What it does

Airtable is a mix of a spreadsheet and a simple database, and many small teams keep orders, stock, contacts, and project lists there. Connected this way, the muse gets 4 read-only tools. It can list the bases your token can reach, list a base's tables with their table IDs, names, fields, and views, list records from a table, and open one record by its ID. Ask which orders are still open, what fields a table holds, or what one record says, and the muse reads the current data and answers. Because the tools are read only, there is no edit, add, or delete tool to switch on by mistake.

How to use it

  1. In Airtable, create a Personal Access Token and grant only the two read scopes for records and base schemas. Restrict the token to only the bases this connector should read.
  2. Start an AnythingMCP account, add the Airtable connector, and enter the token only where the connector asks, never in a chat.
  3. In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
  4. Start with a check: ask the muse to list your bases and the tables in one base, and compare the answer with Airtable itself.
  5. Ask your real question about records in one named base and table, so the muse reads the right place.

What you need

  • A Muse account that can add custom connectors
  • An AnythingMCP account with the Airtable connector added
  • An Airtable Personal Access Token with read scopes, limited to the bases you want read

What to watch for

  • Read only means read only. If a job needs a record added or changed, that part stays with you in Airtable.
  • The token decides what the muse can see. A token with access to a base gives the connector access to that base, so keep the token scoped to the bases you mean to share.
  • Use a scoped Personal Access Token, not an old-style API key, and revoke it in Airtable if you stop using the connector.
  • This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time.
