Read and Post on X Through Your Muse

Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can work on X: check mentions and your timeline, search recent posts, and draft posts, replies, and direct messages that go out only after you approve them.

What it does

The connector adds 41 tools. For reading, the muse can look up profiles, list your posts and mentions, read your home timeline, and search the last 7 days of posts with filters such as from:, a hashtag, or an exact phrase. It can list followers and accounts you follow, and read direct messages from the last 30 days. For writing, it can post, reply, quote, like, repost, bookmark, follow or unfollow, and send direct messages. Every write shows you the exact text or person first, for your approval. Delete tools for posts and messages start switched off.

How to use it

1. Start an AnythingMCP account and add the X connector.
2. At console.x.com, create an app with pay-per-use credits, set permissions to Read and write and Direct message, choose the Web App, Automated App or Bot type, and paste the callback address the connector shows you, exactly as written.
3. Copy the app's Client ID and Client Secret into the connector's fields. Enter them only there, never in a chat.
4. Click Authorize with Provider and approve with your X account. Your password never passes through the connector.
5. In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
6. Start with today's mentions, then ask for a draft reply and check its wording before approving it.

What you need

• A Muse account that can add custom connectors
• An AnythingMCP account with the X connector added
• An X developer app with pay-per-use credits
• The X account you want the muse to work with

What to watch for

• X charges for this access; there is no free plan. Posts cost more than reads, and a post with a link costs much more. Set a spending limit in the Developer Console so a busy day cannot surprise you.
• Search covers only the last 7 days. Replies work only where the author mentioned or quoted your account, or in your own threads.
• Encrypted direct messages are not available.
• Posts are text or polls only: no photos or video, no full archive search, and no mute or block tools.
• This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time. The muse prepares, you decide.
