Post to Your Own Facebook Profile With the Audience You Pick

Verified 2026-11-01

Your muse can publish a text post to your own Facebook profile for you, with the audience you pick and a chance to approve the exact words before anything goes live.

What it does

Posting a short update is simple, but the audience choice is easy to rush past, and a post set wider than you meant stays wide. Connect Facebook and the steps get clearer. You give your muse the exact text, or draft it together first. Drafting and revising do not publish anything. When you are ready, your muse shows an approval with the full text, the audience, and any sharing destinations, so you confirm who will see it before it posts. You can keep your current Facebook defaults, or pick from the audiences Facebook returns, such as Only me, Friends, or Public. For that one post only, you can also turn sharing to your story, to Instagram, or to Threads on or off, without changing your account settings. A successful post comes back with a link you can open to check it.

How to use it

  1. Connect your Facebook account in the muse app and review the access it asks for.
  2. Give the exact words: "Post this to my profile: Market day is Saturday, rain or shine."
  3. Pick the audience out loud: "Friends only," or ask, "What audiences can I choose from?"
  4. Add a one-time sharing choice if you want it: "Share this one to my story too, just this time."
  5. Read the approval closely, check the text and the audience, and approve only when both are right.

What you need

  • A muse account
  • A Facebook account connected to your muse
  • The final text of the post, in your own words

What to watch for

  • Custom audiences and per-person lists are not available through your muse. If a post needs one named person included or shut out, set that post up in Facebook itself.
  • If Facebook rejects the audience or a sharing choice, nothing posts, and your muse will not quietly retry with a different audience. It stops and asks you how to proceed.
  • If a post attempt times out, the post may still have been created. Check the link or your profile before asking for a second try, so the same update does not go up twice.
  • The approval is the control. Read the audience line every time, even for routine posts, because that line decides who sees your words.
