Pitch Your Music to Playlists That Fit Your Sound

Verified 2026-10-17

If you make music and have no time to chase playlist curators one by one, a muse can research playlists that match your genre, send the pitch emails, and keep the outreach moving.

What it does

Getting a song onto the right playlist is research work more than music work. Someone has to find playlists in your genre, check that they take submissions, find a contact, and write a pitch that fits each one. A muse can run that whole search for you. It researches genre-matched playlists on a streaming service and sends the pitch emails to the curators. The same setup can refresh a press kit by pulling current streaming numbers and social links into one tidy page, and can look at listening data to suggest which cities are worth pitching to venues. You still write and record the music. The muse handles the legwork around it.

How to use it

  1. Give the muse your songs, your genre, and two or three artists who sound like you.
  2. Ask it to build a list of playlists that fit your sound, with the curator contact and submission route for each.
  3. Read the list and cut any playlist that feels wrong for your music.
  4. Approve the pitch wording once, in your own voice, before anything is sent.
  5. Let the muse send the pitches in small batches and report back who replied and who placed a song.

What you need

  • Links to your released music and your streaming artist page
  • An email account the muse can send pitches from
  • Your genre, similar artists, and a short bio for the pitch
  • A press kit or the raw material for one, such as photos and social links

What to watch for

  • A placement is never promised. Curators say no or say nothing most of the time, and one placement can take many pitches.
  • Read the first pitches closely. A pitch that sounds mass produced hurts more than it helps, so the wording has to sound like you.
  • Keep track of who was contacted and when. Double pitching the same curator in the same week looks careless.
  • Use an email address set up for outreach if you do not want curator replies mixed into your personal inbox.
