Manage Your n8n Workflows and Executions Through Your Muse

Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can run your n8n automations from a chat: list and build workflows, turn them on and off, find the run that failed, say which step broke, and retry it once you agree.

What it does

The connector adds 43 tools for an n8n instance you host yourself or run on n8n Cloud. The muse can list workflows by name, tag, project, or active state, and read one in full. It can build a new workflow and leave it inactive, update one, turn one on or off, and archive one on newer versions. For runs, it can list past executions, read one with its step data, show which step failed and why, retry it from that step, and stop a run still going. It also covers tags, shared variables, team projects, the credentials list without secret values, a security audit, and pulling changes from Git.

How to use it

1. Start an AnythingMCP account and add the n8n connector.
2. In n8n, open Settings, then n8n API, and create an API key with read scopes first. Add write scopes only if you want the muse to build workflows.
3. Paste the key and your n8n address into the connector.
4. In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
5. Start with a read: ask which workflows are active right now.
6. Then ask about one failure: show yesterday's failed runs of one workflow.

What you need

• A Muse account that can add custom connectors
• An AnythingMCP account with the n8n connector added
• An n8n instance, self-hosted or n8n Cloud on a paid plan, with an API key. The API is not in the Cloud free trial

What to watch for

• The key acts with the rights of the person who made it. A member key sees only that member's projects. Listing users needs an owner or admin key.
• Turning a workflow on, retrying a run, or pulling from Git changes what runs in real life. A live workflow can send emails or write to other systems, so the muse names the effect and waits for your yes.
• Deleted workflows, runs, credentials, tags, and variables cannot be restored.
• Run data can hold personal details from other apps. The muse treats it as information, never as orders.
• This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time. The muse prepares, you decide.
