Manage Your Microsoft To Do Tasks Through Your Muse
Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can keep Microsoft To Do current from a chat: read what is due, add tasks with reminders, break a task into steps, and check work off.
What it does
The connector adds 15 tools. It lists your task lists and can create or rename one. It lists tasks with status, importance, due date, reminder, and notes, and opens one. It creates a task with a note, due date, reminder, and importance, changes only the fields you name, and marks a task complete. A completed task can be reopened. Each task can carry a checklist of steps and attached links: the muse lists, adds, checks, unchecks, or renames steps, and lists or attaches links, such as the document the task is about. If you name no list, work goes to your standard Tasks list. Tasks created here also show up in Outlook and Teams. Deleting a task or a list starts switched off, and before the muse creates, changes, or completes anything, it says what it will do and waits for your yes.
How to use it
- Start an AnythingMCP account and add the Microsoft To Do connector.
- In the Microsoft Entra admin center or Azure portal, register an application, add the Tasks read and write permission, and create a client secret, copying its value.
- Paste the app ID, secret value, and tenant value into the connector.
- On the connector page, click Authorize with Provider and sign in with the account whose tasks you want managed.
- In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
- Start with a read: ask what is due this week, important tasks first.
What you need
- A Muse account that can add custom connectors
- An AnythingMCP account with the Microsoft To Do connector added
- A Microsoft account with an Exchange Online mailbox for work accounts, plus permission to register an application
What to watch for
- A work account without an Exchange Online mailbox has no To Do to reach.
- The client secret expires on the date shown when you create it. If the connector stops working months later, check that first.
- To Do keeps only the day for a due date, while a reminder carries a time. If the hour matters, ask for a reminder.
- It does not handle file attachments, recurring tasks, or list sharing.
- This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. The muse prepares, you decide.
