Maintain Your Meta Product Catalog Through Your Muse

Verified 2026-11-05

Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can check a Meta product catalog in Commerce Manager, explain why products are not showing, and, only with the editing tools switched on and your approval, fix prices, stock, and product details.

What it does

A product catalog is the list of items a business shows in Facebook and Instagram Shops and in catalog ads. Connected this way, the muse gets 19 tools. It can list the catalogs your business owns and the ones clients shared with it. For each catalog it can read products with their SKU, name, price and sale price, availability, inventory, and review status. It can read product sets and data feeds, with upload errors down to the row number and SKU. It can pull the catalog diagnostics and work from those to the exact products that need attention. Editing tools for creating, updating, deleting, and batch updating products are switched off at install.

How to use it

  1. Start an AnythingMCP account and add the Meta Catalog connector.
  2. In Meta Business Settings, add a system user, assign it your catalog, and generate a token with catalog and business permissions. Enter the token and business ID only where the connector asks, never in a chat.
  3. In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
  4. Start with reads: ask why products in one catalog are rejected or not showing, and check the answer in Commerce Manager.
  5. If you want edits, have an administrator switch on the editing tools, and approve each change after the muse names the catalog, the products, and the old and new values.

What you need

  • A Muse account that can add custom connectors
  • An AnythingMCP account with the Meta Catalog connector added
  • A Meta business portfolio with a product catalog in Commerce Manager, and a system user token for it

What to watch for

  • A deleted product cannot be restored, only added again. Keep editing tools off until you need them.
  • A product supplied by a scheduled feed is overwritten at the next feed upload. For a lasting fix, change the feed source instead.
  • Catalog changes reach ads and shops, so check the first edits live before approving a batch.
  • The connector does not create or delete catalogs, feeds, or product sets, change feed schedules, upload feed files, or run catalog ads.
  • This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time.
