Look Up a Friend's Facebook Profile Details From a Name or Link

Verified 2026-11-01

Your muse can look up profile details for your own account or a Facebook friend in one read, starting from a name in your friends or a profile link you share, and lay out their work, education, and life events in order.

What it does

Profile details are the facts a person lists on their Facebook profile. Through your muse, one lookup returns the whole set: work entries with employer and job title, education entries with school, type, and degree, and life events with title and date. Dated entries are shown in date order. The read also returns the person's profile link, so you can open it to check anything in place. Ask for only the fields you need and the answer stays on those fields. A field that comes back empty is reported as not listed. The muse does not fill gaps by reading the person's timeline or friend list, and it does not add guesses. A listed job or school is just that: a fact the person put on their profile, stated as written.

How to use it

  1. Connect Facebook to your muse.
  2. Name the friend, or paste their Facebook profile link. The short name at the end of the link works.
  3. Say which details you want, such as work, education, or life events.
  4. Read the list, and note anything reported as not listed.
  5. Open the profile link to see the details on the page itself.
  6. If you want their recent posts next, ask for their timeline as a separate read.

What you need

  • A Muse account with Facebook connected
  • The person to be you or one of your Facebook friends
  • Their name as it appears among your friends, or a profile link you already have

What to watch for

  • Profiles outside your friends are closed to this read. Someone who is not your friend returns a not accessible result, and a profile that does not exist or is not visible returns a not found result, with no way to tell those last two apart.
  • People are found by name through your friends, not by a stray ID number you paste in.
  • Details are only as current as the profile itself, since many people list a school or a job once and never update it.
  • Use it to refresh your memory before you get in touch, and take anything that matters, such as a current employer, as a starting point to confirm with the person, not as settled fact about their life.
