Let Your Muse Run the Lights, TV and Printer at Home
A small hub near your router can connect your muse to devices you already own at home, so you can ask for a light to be turned on, the TV to be controlled, or a document to be sent to the printer.
What it does
Your muse normally works in the cloud, so it cannot reach things on your home network by itself. The hub fixes that gap. It is a small USB powered device that joins your home WiFi and acts as the bridge between your muse and your house. Small add on programs, called skills, connect it to specific gear. Popular ones cover smart lights, speakers, and TVs, and a skill can send a document to a printer. Once a skill is in place, the request sounds like normal talk: turn the living room light down, put the game on the TV, print two copies of this form.
How to use it
- Claim the hub from the gadgets page. It is free with an active subscription in the United States, one per subscriber, and the first batch is limited.
- Plug it into any USB power source near your router, where the WiFi signal is strong.
- Pair it in the muse app over Bluetooth and pick the home WiFi network.
- Start with one skill for one device, for example your lights, and test it in the room you are standing in.
- Add one device at a time after that, testing each before you add the next.

- At least one compatible device at home, such as smart lights or a network printer

What to watch for
The skills are built by the community, not by the maker of the hub, and they can change or break when a device maker updates its side. Pick one job, watch it work for a week, and only then hand it more of the house. Never put anything safety related on this setup: no locks, no alarms, nothing medical, no heater or stove. If a command fails, check the simple things, since a hub that lost WiFi or a device switched off at the wall explains most failures. It is normal if this sounds like a big step. Start with a lamp, and keep the rest of the house manual until it has earned more.
