Keep a Spoken Idea Inbox With a Trigger Phrase

確認済み 2026-10-26

Ideas arrive when your hands are busy, and typing is slow enough that half of them are gone before you finish. A muse can keep a spoken idea inbox: you say a set phrase, talk, hear the idea read back, and it is filed in one place for later.

What it does

You agree on one short trigger phrase with your muse, something like "note this down." When a message starts with that phrase, the muse treats it as a capture, not a conversation. It does not answer or start working. It transcribes what you said, reads it back, and only saves it once you confirm it is right. Confirmed ideas go into one file, your idea inbox, instead of scattering across chats. Later, when you ask, the muse can sort that file by topic, merge the duplicates, and pull out the ones worth acting on.

How to use it

  1. Set the rule once: "When I start a message with 'note this down,' do not reply or start a task. Transcribe what I say, read it back, and wait for my yes."
  2. Name the home for captures: "Save confirmed ideas in one file called Idea Inbox, newest at the top, with the date."
  3. When an idea hits, open the muse, say the trigger phrase, and talk the idea out in a sentence or three.
  4. Listen to the read-back. Correct names and numbers before you confirm. This step keeps the file clean.
  5. Once a week, ask for a sort: "Go through the Idea Inbox. Group similar ideas, flag the three strongest, and leave the rest filed."

What you need

  • The muse app on your phone, with microphone permission
  • One trigger phrase you would not say by accident in normal conversation
  • A minute a week to review what piled up

What to watch for

  • Pick the phrase carefully. If you use it in ordinary chat, captures trigger by accident, and real requests may get filed instead of answered.
  • The read-back is the quality check. Speech recognition still mangles names and numbers, especially outside. Never confirm a capture you did not actually listen to.
  • An inbox you never sort becomes a junk drawer. The weekly review turns voice notes into a list you can use.
  • It is normal if talking to a device in public feels strange at first. Start at home or in the car. The file is yours: read it, edit it, or wipe it any time.
