Have Your Muse Check Whether You Did What You Said

確認済み 2026-11-02

A muse can keep you accountable in a simple way: you tell it the tasks you want done, and later it checks back and asks whether you actually did them.

What it does

Reminders tell you a task exists. A check-back asks what happened. You name the things you intend to do, tied to goals you care about, such as a health goal, a language, or family paperwork. The muse holds the list, and at the time you set, asks you one item at a time whether each got done. Your answers become the record, so a task you keep skipping stays visible instead of quietly disappearing. The point is not doing the work for you. It is a steady outside check that helps you do the work yourself, which is a real help if starting things and keeping track of them is the part you find hard.

How to use it

  1. Pick a small set of tasks you genuinely want to be asked about. Two or three is enough to start.
  2. Tell the muse each task in plain words, and say when it should check back, such as each evening or each weekday morning.
  3. Answer honestly when it asks. Done, partly done, or not done are all useful answers, and a skipped task can be moved, shrunk, or dropped.
  4. Once a week, read the pattern with the muse. Repeated misses usually mean the task is too big or badly timed, not that you need a sterner reminder.
  5. Change the list as your goals change. Retire finished tasks so the check-back stays short.

What you need

  • A muse account
  • A short list of tasks you chose yourself, in your own words
  • A check-back time you will actually see

What to watch for

  • Keep the list yours. It only works on tasks you set for yourself. If the list starts to feel like orders from the app, cut it back to the one or two things that matter most.
  • It is normal if being asked about your own list by a program feels strange at first. You set the tasks, you set the time, you can review or wipe what it remembers, and you can stop the check-backs at any time.
  • An honest answer matters more than a perfect week. If you start saying done just to end the conversation, the record means nothing.
  • The muse prepares the list and asks the questions. You decide what gets done, and you stay in charge of every goal on it.
