Give Your Routines a Manager for One Morning Standup

確認済み 2026-10-23

Once several routines are running, reading all their reports becomes a job. A muse can take it: one extra setup reads each routine's latest report every morning and gives you a standup that says all clear or names what needs you.

What it does

The manager has a narrow job. It collects the last report from each routine you name, gives one line per routine and flags disagreements. It also keeps a shared playbook: one section per routine covering its job, schedule, limits, and quirks. When a routine errs, it writes a short postmortem and adds the lesson to the playbook. It reads reports only. It never reruns or changes a routine, never sends anything, and never approves anything for you.

How to use it

  1. Wait until three or four routines are running and reports are piling up. A manager with nobody to manage is overhead.
  2. Set it up in plain words: "Every weekday at 7:30am, read the latest report from each of my routines," then name each routine and where its report lands. "One line per routine: running normally, or what needs attention. Under 10 lines. If all is fine, say all clear. Read reports only."
  3. Add the safety rule: any item needing attention must quote the routine report word for word, and link back to that thread.
  4. For the first week, spot-check one raw report against the standup to confirm they agree.
  5. Ask the manager to interview you about each routine and write the playbook. Name the quirks you have noticed.
  6. When a routine makes a mistake, run a postmortem through the manager and add the lesson to the playbook, instead of correcting it in that thread.

What you need

  • A muse account
  • Three or more routines already running, each reporting to a known place
  • A standup time after your slowest routine finishes

What to watch for

  • A summary of a summary can go wrong. A manager can report a problem the routine never found, by misreading a line that said the check was clean. Quote word for word and read the source before acting on anything surprising.
  • Schedule the standup after the workers finish, or it will invent the ending of a half-finished report.
  • Hold the boundary when the manager tries to do a routine job itself, such as rerunning a late check. It may leave a note. It may not do the work.
  • You alone approve, fix, or retire a routine. The manager tells you where to look.
