What it does

A muse can connect to your bank and card accounts with read-only access and read every transaction and balance. At the end of the month it sorts everything into income, expenses, and balances and hands you one clean summary. It takes about fifteen minutes to review instead of the hours a spreadsheet used to cost. When something is missing, like a cash payment it cannot see, it asks you a direct question and fills in your answer.

How to use it

1. Connect your accounts inside the muse app through its bank connector. Use read-only access, which lets it see transactions but never move money.
2. Tell it what you want: "Build my monthly statement. Income, expenses, balances, grouped by category."
3. When it asks about gaps (cash spending, transfers between your own accounts), answer in plain words and it slots them in.
4. Review the finished statement each month. Tell it when a category is wrong and it remembers for next time.

What to watch for

Handing an agent access to your money can feel strange, and it is normal if it does. Read-only means read-only: it can see, not spend. You can remove the connection any time. Cash and anything off the books still needs your input, so expect a short round of questions the first month. Check the totals against your bank before you act on anything important.
