Get Gentle Reminders From a Book You Loved

Verified 2026-10-16

Your muse can send you short reminders of the key points from a book you read and loved, spaced a few days apart over the next few months, so the ideas stay with you after you finish the last page.

What it does

Most people finish a good book and lose most of it within a month. The notes sit in a phone note that never gets opened again.

A muse can turn the key points of a book into a slow, steady reminder series. You name the book and the points that mattered to you, or ask the muse to pull the main points and show them to you for approval first. Then it sends one short reminder every few days, in plain words, over a period you set. Each message is small enough to read in a moment. When the series ends, you can stop, repeat the points that helped most, or start a new series.

How to use it

  1. Name the book and say why it mattered to you. If you took notes or underlined passages, share those; they make the reminders sound like your book, not a generic summary.
  2. Ask for the list first: "Pull out the key points from this book and show me the list before you send anything." Cut or reword any point that is not quite right.
  3. Set the pace: "Send me one reminder every four days for the next few months. Keep each one to a few lines. Send them in the morning."
  4. Read each reminder when it lands. If one point keeps helping, tell the muse to repeat that one more often.
  5. End or change the series at any time with a plain instruction, such as "stop the book reminders" or "switch to the new book."

What you need

  • The muse app, signed in
  • The name of the book, and your notes or marked passages if you have them
  • A pace and a time of day that fit your routine

What to watch for

The reminder list is only as good as the points on it, so review the list before the series starts. A point taken out of context can read flat or even wrong; reword it in your own voice when that happens. This is a memory aid, not a substitute for the book, and it works best for ideas you already understood and want to keep. If reminders start to feel like noise, slow the pace or stop the series. You stay in charge of what it sends and when.
