Find the Job Interview in Your Email and Put It on Your Calendar

Verified 2026-10-23

An interview invitation often arrives as one more email in a busy inbox. A muse connected to your email and calendar can read the inbox, spot the interview, and put it on your calendar.

What it does

Connect your email and calendar and the muse can read new mail with your permission, pick out messages that carry a real commitment, and turn them into calendar events. It can find an interview invitation in your mail and add it to your calendar with the date, time, and place, no copying by hand. That matters during a job search, when invitations and reschedules pile up across many threads and one missed message can cost you the meeting. The muse prepares the calendar. You stay in charge of the search: what you applied for, what you accept, and how you prepare.

How to use it

  1. Connect your email account and your calendar in the muse app, one at a time, and check the permissions each asks for.
  2. Say the job in plain words: "Read my recent email. When you find a job interview, add it to my calendar with the date, time, and company name."
  3. Add the details you want carried over: "Include the video call link or the address if the email has one, and who you will meet."
  4. Review the event the muse creates against the original email. Check the day, the time, and the time zone before you rely on it.
  5. Once the first one lands, ask for a standing rule: "Do the same for every interview invitation, and tell me each time you add one."

What you need

  • A muse account
  • Your email account connected, with permission to read messages
  • Your calendar connected, with permission to add events
  • A few minutes to check the first events it creates

What to watch for

  • Read access to your inbox is a real thing to hand over, and it is normal if that feels strange at first. Start with the calendar rule only, review what the muse adds, and adjust the access as your trust settles.
  • Check every event it creates at the start: an email can name two possible times, a reschedule can sit in a later thread, and the muse can pick the older detail. Keep the original email until the interview is done, so you can check against it.
  • The muse only finds what arrives in the inbox you connected. An invitation sent to a different address stays invisible until you connect that address too.
