Find the Instagram Message You Lost and Clear Your Requests
Your muse can search your Instagram direct messages by a word, a person, or a date range, and work through the message requests sitting in the folder most people never open.
What it does
Instagram messages have their own connection, separate from the one for profiles and posts, so one can be on while the other is off. Once connected, your muse can search in three ways most people never find in the app: by word or phrase, by person, or by a stretch of dates. That is how you recover the address someone sent in March or the price you agreed in the summer. It can list your conversations with previews, and open the pending folder, where requests from accounts you do not follow wait, plus the spam folder behind it. On a creator or business account it can filter the inbox to unread, unanswered, or starred conversations, turning a messy inbox into a short work list. Accepting or declining a request happens only when you say so.
How to use it
- Connect Instagram Messages using the connect link your muse gives you, and pick the right account if you have more than one.
- Start with the lost thing: "Search my messages for the word invoice between June and August" or name the person instead.
- Ask for the pending folder next: "Show my message requests, one line each on who they are and what they want."
- Decide each request yourself, and say accept or decline for that one person.
- When you reply, give the exact conversation and words, and approve the send card. Reactions work the same way: name the message and the emoji.
What you need
- A muse account
- An Instagram account, connected for messages separately from posts
- A creator or business account if you want the filtered inbox views
What to watch for
- Accepting a request moves the conversation into your inbox and lets that person message you freely and see when you read a message. Decline anything that feels off.
- On creator and business accounts the app splits the inbox into tabs, and this connection cannot choose or read the tab. Check the app if a conversation lands in an odd place.
- A send cannot be undone, and your muse never retries one on its own. If a result is unclear it reports that, and you decide what happens next.
- Keep searches narrow. Your muse answers questions from your messages, but it will not copy out your whole history, and disappearing messages are off limits.
