Find, Share, and Organize Your Files Through Box

Verified 2026-11-01

If your files live in Box, your muse can search them, read them, organize them into folders, and share them with the people you name, all from one request.

What it does

Box holds personal and work files, and a connected muse works across them. Ask for a file by what it is about rather than its exact name, and it searches by keyword and file type, then reads the document it finds. It can show a file's details, such as size and who has access, and read its comments. It can create folders, upload files into them, and move or rename files when a project needs tidying. When work is ready to go out, it can create a shared link for a file or folder, or invite named people as collaborators at the level you pick. Deleted items kept in the trash can be restored. A fresh connection starts read-only, and wider access comes step by step as you approve it.

How to use it

  1. Log in to your muse, open Settings, then Connectors, find Box, and select Connect.
  2. Finish the sign-in in your browser, then start with a search: "Find the project plan document and read me the summary."
  3. Check the file it found is right before you rely on its contents.
  4. Ask for the organizing step: "Create a folder for this project and move the plan and its attachments into it."
  5. When you share, name the people and the access level out loud: "Share this folder with these two people as viewers," and confirm the audience before the link or invite goes out.

What you need

  • A muse account
  • A Box account, connected through the connector in your muse settings
  • Files in Box for the muse to find

What to watch for

  • Sharing is the step to watch. A shared link or a collaboration invite reaches real people, so check who it names and what it opens before approving.
  • If downloads are set to deny in connector settings, the muse can still search file details but cannot read file contents or previews.
  • Deleting can be permanent when Box trash is turned off for an account, and deleting a folder with files in it is a separate, bigger step. Ask what will be removed before approving any deletion.
  • It is normal if an agent tidying your files sounds strange. The connection starts read-only, every wider permission is a separate yes from you, and you can disconnect Box at any time. The muse prepares, you decide.
