Find the Subscriptions Still Billing You
Upload your credit card statements and a muse can list every recurring charge, flag the ones that look like forgotten subscriptions, and walk you through canceling them.
What it does
It reads the statement PDFs and pulls out every charge that repeats: subscriptions, memberships, services you might have forgotten about. For each one, it can walk you through the cancellation on the provider's website, step by step. Cancellation pages are designed to be confusing; a read-through helps. In our own testing, this exercise surfaced a forgotten subscription worth about $25 a month, from two minutes of work.
How to use it
- Upload your latest statement, or a few months of them.
- Ask: "List every recurring charge on these statements, with the amount and how often it bills. Flag anything that looks like a subscription, membership, or service I might have forgotten about."
- For each one, decide: keep, cancel, or investigate. Then ask it to walk you through the cancellation for the ones you drop.
- Check its math before you act on anything it flags. This is a five-minute review, not a blind trust exercise.
What you need
- Your credit card statements, as PDFs or uploads
- Five minutes to review what it flags
- Your logins for the services you cancel
What to watch for
The lesson stands for every charge: verify it is real and current before you act. If you are comfortable connecting the card account itself, the muse can watch this continuously. If you are not, the statement-upload version gets you most of the value with less exposure.
