Find and Follow a Public Agent Skill for the Task at Hand
Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can search a public index of agent skills, read the best match for your task, and follow its method in the chat, with no copy and paste from you.
What it does
A skill is a short set of written instructions, saved as a SKILL.md file, that tells an agent how to do one kind of job well, such as writing release notes, reviewing code for security problems, or turning an incident timeline into a postmortem. Connected this way, the muse gets 7 tools. It can search the public skills index, check a skill's source repository and license, pin the exact version it will use, read the instructions, list and read files in that repository, and save a skill you like as a workspace skill for your team. The muse follows the method for that one task and tells you which skill it used. Nothing is installed in Muse and nothing stays loaded after the task.
How to use it
- Start an AnythingMCP account and install the Agent Skills Finder connector. It needs no credentials, and on a new workspace it is also in the starter pack.
- In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
- Ask for the job in plain words and name the kind of skill you want, for example: find a skill for writing release notes and use it on the commits since the last tag.
- Check the skill the muse names, with its link and license, before you rely on the result.
- If it proved useful, ask the muse to save it as a workspace skill for your team.
What you need
- A Muse account that can add custom connectors
- An AnythingMCP account with the Agent Skills Finder connector installed
What to watch for
- A skill is third-party text. Read the one the muse picks before you use its output for anything important, and keep your own approval in place for sensitive work.
- The connector reads files and never runs scripts. Skills that depend on a terminal or on files the muse cannot reach will not work in chat, and the muse should skip them.
- Search is free for 50 queries a day, or 500 with a free SkillsMP key. Plan a long search session with that limit in mind.
- This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time.
