Check Your Servers and Apps Through DigitalOcean

Verificado 2026-11-07

Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can keep an eye on your DigitalOcean account from a chat: servers, apps, databases, and costs.

What it does

The connector adds 33 tools. It reads the account, the current balance, and past invoices. For Droplets, the simple servers, it lists and reads each one with its size, region, and status, plus CPU and bandwidth use and the snapshots already taken. For App Platform it lists apps and deployments, reads why a deployment failed step by step, and returns links to build and run logs. It also reads managed databases and their replicas, Kubernetes clusters, storage volumes, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS domains with every record. Four changes are possible, and each asks first: power a Droplet on or off, take a snapshot, redeploy an app, and add or change a DNS record. Nothing can delete a server, app, database, cluster, or volume, and deleting a DNS record starts switched off.

How to use it

  1. Start an AnythingMCP account and add the DigitalOcean connector.
  2. In the DigitalOcean control panel, open API, then Tokens, and generate a new token for the team you want connected.
  3. Choose Custom Scopes and grant read access. Add the update scopes only for the changes you want, such as Droplet power or DNS edits. A read-only token also works and blocks every change.
  4. Copy the token, shown once, and paste it into the connector.
  5. In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
  6. Start with reads: list your Droplets, check this month's balance, and ask why the last app deployment failed.

What you need

  • A Muse account that can add custom connectors
  • An AnythingMCP account with the DigitalOcean connector added
  • A DigitalOcean account and an API token with the scopes you choose

What to watch for

  • A full access token could do real damage outside this connector's own limits. Use custom scopes, and keep the token out of chats.
  • Snapshots are billed by size each month, and a switched-off Droplet is still billed. Ask the muse to flag both.
  • CPU and bandwidth figures need the monitoring agent running on the Droplet. Without it, those reads come back empty.
  • Log links are temporary, but anyone holding one can read the logs while it lasts. Treat them like keys.
  • Database reads never show passwords or connection strings, by design. This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. The muse prepares, you decide.
