Check When Your Save to Spotify Episode Is Ready to Play
If you make a show with Save to Spotify, you can ask your muse to list your shows and episodes and check whether a new episode has finished processing and is ready to play.
What it does
An uploaded episode is not playable the moment it is sent. Spotify processes it first, and until that work ends the episode sits in a not-ready state. Connected, the muse reads the list of shows created with Save to Spotify, which is the full and correct list for those shows, and lists the episodes under the show you name. Ask about one episode and it checks that episode's status for you and waits while Spotify finishes. When the status reads ready, the episode is playable. When it stays not ready, that is a delay on Spotify's side, not a failed upload. The muse matches shows and episodes by title, and if two titles match, it asks which one you mean instead of guessing.
How to use it
- Connect Spotify in your muse settings and sign in with the account that holds your shows.
- Ask the muse to list your Save to Spotify shows and check that the show you want is there.
- Name the show and ask for its episodes. Pick the episode by its exact title.
- Ask the muse to check that episode's status. Give it time, since a check can wait while processing finishes.
- When it reports ready, open Spotify and play the start of the episode yourself to hear that it works.
- If it reports not ready after a long wait, leave it and ask again later rather than uploading the episode a second time.
What you need
- A muse account
- A Spotify account connected to your muse
- A show created with Save to Spotify, with at least one episode sent for processing
- The exact title of the show and the episode you want checked
What to watch for
- Only shows created with Save to Spotify are managed this way. Shows handled through other podcast tools or sites do not appear in this list.
- A not ready result after a long wait means Spotify is still processing. The episode was accepted, so sending it again can create a duplicate.
- The muse prepares and checks, you decide. Play the episode once yourself before you share the link with anyone.
- Show and episode titles are how you refer to your work here. Internal IDs stay out of the conversation, so work by title every time.
