Check Stock Quotes, Earnings, and Filings Through Finnhub

Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can read live market data from Finnhub: stock, currency, and crypto quotes, company profiles and key figures, company and market news, analyst ratings, earnings and listing calendars, insider trades, and SEC filings. Every tool only reads, and the free plan covers most of it.

What it does

The connector adds 22 tools, all read-only. Ask for a stock's latest price and how much it moved today, or look a company up by name when you do not know its ticker. Read a company profile with its market size and shares, plus key figures such as the 52-week high and low, price-to-earnings, margins, and dividend yield. Pull recent news about one company or the wider market, monthly analyst buy, hold, and sell ratings, and earnings results against what analysts expected. Check which companies report earnings in a date range, which new listings are coming, whether insiders have been buying or selling, and whether a market is open right now.

How to use it

1. Start an AnythingMCP account and add the Finnhub connector.
2. Sign up at Finnhub for a free account and copy the API key from the dashboard.
3. Paste the key into the connector on its own, with no extra words or spaces.
4. In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
5. Test it with a simple ask, such as whether the US market is open, then try a quote for a company you know and compare it with a finance site.

What you need

• A Muse account that can add custom connectors
• An AnythingMCP account with the Finnhub connector added
• A Finnhub API key. The free plan covers every tool except price history

What to watch for

• This is market information, not advice. The muse shows the numbers; whether to buy, sell, or hold stays your call.
• On the free plan, real-time quotes cover US stocks. Other markets, and price history, need a paid plan, and some history is shorter, such as one year of company news.
• Market size and share counts come back in millions, which is easy to misread at a glance. Ask the muse to write the full number out when it matters.
• The free plan allows 60 calls a minute, so ask one clear question at a time.
• This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time. The muse prepares, you decide.
