Check SEO Data and Keywords Through Ahrefs
Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can read Ahrefs search data for any site: how strong its links are, which pages bring in search traffic, which keywords it ranks for, and which other sites compete with it. Every tool only reads, and nothing on your site changes.
What it does
The connector adds 18 tools, all read-only. Ask for a site's Domain Rating and rank, its backlinks and linking sites, the words those links use, and its search traffic and top pages on a date you pick. Ask which keywords a site ranks for, with position, volume, and cost per click, and which rival sites share those keywords. For a new topic, ask for keyword ideas, related terms, monthly volume history, and the recorded results page for a keyword in one country. One tool compares up to 100 sites at once. A free tool shows how much of your monthly API allowance you have used and when it resets.
How to use it
- Start an AnythingMCP account and add the Ahrefs connector.
- In Ahrefs, open Account settings, then API keys, and create a key. Only a workspace owner or admin can do this, and API access comes with paid plans.
- Paste the key into the connector.
- In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
- Start with the free usage check, so you know your plan and remaining allowance.
- Try one test question on a site you know well, and compare its top pages with the site.
What you need
- A Muse account that can add custom connectors
- An AnythingMCP account with the Ahrefs connector added
- An Ahrefs account on a plan with API access, with an API key. Other plans can run only the test queries
What to watch for
- Every request spends units from your allowance. A request costs at least 50 units, and long lists cost more, so ask only for the figures you need.
- Test queries on a small set of Ahrefs-owned sites and keywords cost nothing. Use them to check the setup first.
- The connector does not cover Rank Tracker, Site Audit, or project management. It reads search and link data only.
- Figures are dated snapshots. Ask for today's date for current data, and treat traffic figures as estimates, not your own analytics.
- This is a custom connector, and Meta does not review custom connectors. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time. The muse prepares, you decide.
