Check Crypto Prices and Market Trends Through CoinGecko
Through an AnythingMCP custom connector, your muse can check crypto prices and market trends from CoinGecko: current prices, the top coins by market size, price history, and the coins people are searching for most. It reads public data only: no trading, no wallet access.
What it does
The connector adds 8 tools, all read-only. Ask for the current price of one coin, or several at once, in your currency. Search for coins, categories, and markets when you only half remember a name. Pull the top coins by market size, with prices and recent moves. Open one coin in full for its description, links, market figures, and community and developer numbers. Read price, market size, and trading volume history over a period you choose. Or ask which seven coins are trending, ranked by search volume over the last 24 hours. It is a quick way to check the market before opening your accounts.
How to use it
- Start an AnythingMCP account and add the CoinGecko connector. No CoinGecko account or key is required; the data is public.
- If you plan to ask often, add a free CoinGecko Demo key in the connector. Public access allows roughly 10 to 30 calls a minute; the key steadies that at 30 calls a minute.
- In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the MCP server address AnythingMCP gives you. Sign in and approve.
- Start simple: ask for one coin's price and compare it with the CoinGecko website.
- Then try reads like how a coin moved over the last 30 days or what is trending today.

What to watch for
- A price in a chat is the price when it was pulled. Prices move constantly, so ask again before you act on any figure.
- Trending means most searched, not best performing. A coin often trends because its price just fell hard.
- This is market information, not advice. Whether to buy, sell, or hold any coin stays your call.
- Very new or small coins may not be listed yet, so a search can come back empty even when the coin exists.
- Asking many questions in a burst can hit the rate limit. Wait a minute and ask again.
- Because no account is connected, the muse cannot see what you own. Balances need a separate account-based route.
