Book the Daycare Tours without the Phone Tag

A muse can line up daycare visits for you: it browses the daycares near you, books the tours that can be booked online, and calls the ones that only take phone bookings. One parent got two visits scheduled this way, including one where the muse handled the actual phone conversation with a human at the daycare.

What it does

Finding a daycare means calling half a dozen places during work hours and playing voicemail tag. The muse does the browsing: it finds nearby daycares, checks which ones offer online tour booking, and books those directly. For the ones that only schedule by phone, it can place the call itself once you give it a calling setup, and talk through the scheduling with whoever answers.

How to use it

1. Tell the muse your neighborhood, your child's age, and the days and times you can tour.
2. It builds a shortlist of nearby daycares and books the tours that are available online.
3. For phone-only daycares, provide the calling setup it asks for and let it call during business hours.
4. Review the booked visits on your calendar. Confirm the final list yourself.
5. Tour in person before you decide anything. The muse books the visit; you judge the place.

What you need

• Your area, your schedule constraints, and your child's age.
• For phone bookings, the calling integration the muse asks you to set up (it will walk you through it).

What to watch for

• Daycare spots and prices change fast. Treat anything the muse books as a tour, not a commitment, and confirm details when you visit.
• The phone call only works with the calling setup in place, and some daycares will not discuss availability with anyone but a parent, so be ready to take over.
• Policies on cameras, sick days, and late pickup vary wildly. Those questions are yours to ask on the tour, in person.
