Audit the Cart Before You Check Out

Verified 2026-10-08

Your muse can look at a shopping cart the same way a careful friend would: check what is already in there before you pay, and ask about anything you forgot about.

What it does

Give your muse the shopping you are planning, and it will open the cart, spot the items that were already sitting there from an earlier visit, and ask you what to do with them before anything is charged. The point is simple. Carts fill up quietly. You add something on Monday, forget about it, add the real purchase on Friday, and pay for both without noticing. The muse reads the cart contents as they are, not as you remember them.

How to use it

  1. When you are ready to buy something, tell your muse where you are shopping and what you actually want to buy.
  2. Ask it to check the cart first: "Look at what is already in my cart and tell me what you see."
  3. Let it read each item back to you, including the prices.
  4. Tell it what to keep and what to remove, then let it proceed with the purchase of the items you confirmed.
  5. Approve the final total yourself before anything is charged, the same as you always would.

What you need

  • Your muse connected to the store you are buying from, or pointed at the cart in its own browser.
  • One purchase at a time. This works best as a quick check, not as a background task you set and forget.

What to watch for

The muse is reading what the site shows it. If a price changed since the item was added, it will report the price it sees now, not the one you saw earlier. Read the final total in the approval prompt yourself; that is the number that matters. Some stores block agents from checking out entirely, in which case the muse can still do the audit and you finish the purchase by hand.
