Approve or Stop an Email Before Your Muse Sends It

確認済み 2026-10-23

A muse does not have to send email on its own. You can set it so every outgoing message stops and shows you the exact text first, with a simple choice to allow it, always allow that recipient, or deny it. With the gate on, nothing goes out until you say so.

What it does

The approval gate answers the main worry about connecting email: that the agent might send the wrong thing while you are not looking. When the muse is ready to send, it pauses and shows you the message and who it goes to. You get three plain choices. Allow sends this one message. Always allow for this recipient lets future messages to that same person go without a pause, which suits a partner or family member you write to daily. Deny stops the message completely. You can change the setting at any time. The muse drafts and prepares, you decide what actually goes out.

How to use it

  1. Connect your email account, then open the permission settings before you give the muse its first sending task.
  2. Set outgoing email to ask first. Look for the permission defaults and choose the option that asks before actions like sending.
  3. Give the muse a small first task, such as a routine reply to someone you know well.
  4. When the approval prompt appears, read the full message and the recipient address, not just the subject line.
  5. Choose allow for a one-off, always allow only for recipients you fully trust with routine mail, and deny anything that looks off. A denial costs nothing.
  6. Review your always-allow list once a month and remove anyone who no longer belongs on it.

What you need

  • A muse account
  • Your email account connected
  • A few minutes in the permission settings before the first send

What to watch for

  • Always allow is the setting to treat with care. It is handy, and it is also the one that removes your pause. Keep the list short and review it.
  • Read the recipient, not just the text. A correct message to a wrong address is still a wrong send, and tangled threads can confuse any reader, human or agent.
  • Deny is a complete stop, not a delay. If you deny a message you actually wanted, you will need to ask for it again.
  • It is normal if handing an agent your inbox feels strange at first. Starting with the gate on and one low-risk task is a sensible way to learn what it does.
